ON-LINE konference v angličtině: 13. 10. 2020
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Rafael Lalive | Professor of Economics and Vice Dean of Research at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Lausanne
This public lecture will address employment from a life-cycle perspective. We will start by reviewing whether child care helps or hinders child development. Turning to family policies, we will next review recent evidence on the effects of birth-related leave policies on employment patterns. Finally, we will consider ways pension policies shape employment patterns towards the end of the work cycle in unexpected ways.
The lecture reviews the results of studies that have documented causal effects which are essential ingredients in policy making. The lecture also discusses how these policies are seen by Swiss voters, who regularly address reforms to the welfare state.
